The two said a divine voice spoke to them and they prayed in front of Mandoza’s coffin for 15 minutes on Thursday, the day before he was buried.
Family elder, Mziwakhe Tshabalala (64), said: “We were shocked to find them at the Grace Bible Church, waiting for the family.
“They prayed in front of the coffin at the family home for about 15 minutes. It was the most divine thing to see our son being blessed in such a special way a day before his burial. Soon after they had
finished praying they left the house and we have not heard from them since.”
He said the visit showed how Mandoza united people of different races and beliefs.
At the tearful ceremony at the Grace Bible Church in Zola, Soweto, Mandoza’s wife, Mpho said it was hard to talk about him because he was everything to her and their kids. She said although she was
angry when he had a child with another woman, it made her stronger.
“Just as any woman would be, I was bitter and full of anger, but I prayed to God. I accepted the boy and I love him like all the other children in the house,”
Former SABC chief operating officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng also spoke at the funeral. He said he wasn’t stressed and would continue bringing change to the public broadcaster as an ordinary employee.
Mandoza lost his battle with cancer last Sunday when he died on the way to hospital. He was buried on Friday at West Park Cemetery in Joburg.
