RAPPER Luka 120 wants to take his music to another level.
He collaborated with the American rapper known as Pimpin Ken on a song called Separated.
The track is produced by Master Lee Beat and the two rappers hope it will see them nominated for many awards, including the BET Awards.
Speaking to SunBuzz, Luka 120, whose real name is Mashudu Makhado, said: “The song will be on my fourth album, titled Masakana. We decided to work together because he wants to see himself appealing to the South African audience and I also want to start reaching the international market. The song is going to be a hit.”
Born and raised in Saulsville, Tshwane, Luka 120 said he realised that he wanted to become a professional singer in 2012 and didn’t hesitate to follow his passion.
All his albums have been about break-ups.
“I rap about break-ups because everyone sings about love.
“I realised there are lot of people who are single and going through a tough time. I wanted to help people going through difficult times,” he said.
Some of the other songs on his album include: Let’s Go, Why Did You Lie To Me, My Pretty Lady and Why Did You Cheat?.
The album, which is produced by Master Lee of Lee Records, also features Selma Mtukudzi from Zimbabwe, Bizz Makhi, and Thinking Boy from Nigeria.
Luka 120 released his third album Tshiwela, which he said did well in Jozi but not so well in Venda.
“I also want to be recognised in my home town before I become popular in other countries,” he said. His music can be found on iTunes.
