THE #Jesus on the Cross pose has hit social media and church leaders have responded with anger.

The latest posing craze has seen people impersonating Christ on the cross, wrapping themselves with ropes, their heads turned slightly.

Some even pour red liquid on themselves to resemble blood.

But not everyone is amused.

Church leaders are angry, arguing that this is disrespectful.

Pastor Peter Mobowa, founder of the Healing Heart Church, said there was nothing funny about the pose.

“People often don’t know what they’re doing,” he said.

“Some things are not meant to be played with.

“We all know that Jesus died on the cross to save all of us, and that it is not a joke.

“These people must just read the Bible.

“Maybe they’ll think twice before doing any of this.”

Bonnie Bujwa-Swagg Sithole wrote: “Nah. This I refuse to partake in.”
