JAZZ veteran Thandi Klaasen’s family has confirmed she has cancer.

This comes after the singer was admitted to hospital last month.

Her daughter, Lorraine, yesterday told the People’s Paper her mum has pancreatic cancer.

“Sunday marked a month since she was admitted to hospital. At least we now know what’s wrong with her,” she said.

“My mum’s skin and eyes were turning yellow.

“If she had received treatment earlier, she would not be this sick. She is better now that she has undergone treatment.”

However, the singer still cannot speak.

Lorraine wrote a Facebook post thanking everyone who has supported the family.

The post reads: “Friends, we finally know what my mom is suffering from. The terrible thing called pancreatic cancer.

“It is sad to see your loved ones suffer and know there is nothing you can do. The doctors are keeping my mum comfortable. She has a lot of visitors. She sees them and can hear our comments. I always sing her favourite song, And I Love You So, to her.

“I love my mum.”
