This month local actress, Hayley Owen, will join the cast of Generations The Legacy.

Known to most viewers as the lovable Angie from The Wild, or the sexy and feisty Talullah from High Rollers, Hayley will now portray a completely different character, as Elsa Van Wyk.

Elsa is a prim and proper mother from the suburbs who embarks on a mission to reconnect with her childhood nanny, Florence, played by Ivy Nkutha.

This reunion sparks contrasting reactions from Shebeen Queen, Lucy, and the rest of the Diale family.

Elsa’s character also forces Lucy and Florence to confront difficult memories from their past.

Gog’Flo taught Elsa to speak some Zulu as a child thus making for some entertaining scenes where Elsa endears herself to the other characters with her Tsotsi Taal.

We can see from Hayley’s social media posts that she is enjoying her new role and very comfortable in the company of some of SA’s screen legends.

Hayley says, “In High Rollers I played a manipulative dancer and, although I am still in killer heels, Elsa is a much softer character. I studied Zulu at High School and University but now I am learning real Jozi vernac - I can tell you what it means to ‘Gareza or ‘Amavosho.’

I have been so impressed with the talent and professionalism of the Generations production. It is an honour to be on a show with such a large and loyal following. I hope South Africans will welcome Elsa into their homes.”

As of the 21st August, viewers can look forward to seeing another dimension to this bombshell actress.  Catch Hayley Owen on Generations The Legacy, SABC1 Monday to Friday at 8pm. Repeats daily at 9:00am.
