SHE pretends to be a woman who is very sick and needs prayers.
But after getting divine help, she asks for money and quickly vanishes with the cash she supposedly borrowed!
Now police are looking for the woman.
Alex FM presenter Flash Thobejane (50), from Klipfontein, near Midrand in Gauteng, claims she tricked him and his wife at their home.
“She presented herself as a Christian from Cape Town. She was softly spoken and asked me to take her to church,” he said.
He said the woman, who is believed to be in her late 50s and goes by the name Gladys Nkosi, was roaming around his neighbourhood in November, saying she was lost.
He said she had a heavy siSwati accent and asked to be taken to the nearest Christian family.
“She told us she came all the way from Khayelitsha in Cape Town and then found her husband living with another woman in Joburg.
“She asked us to lend her money so she could go back home.
“She said she would pay us back when she got to Cape Town,” said Flash.
“I believed her story because she seemed very depressed and was crying.
“She was even holding a Bible and quoted verses as we spoke.
“I went to the ATM and withdrew R1 500 and gave it her.”
Flash said soon after the woman left her phone was switched off and she was nowhere to be found.
“I gave her the money I had saved to fix my car. I want this woman to be arrested and she must pay my money back,” he said.
Police Captain Jethro Mtshali said a case of theft was opened and anyone who knows the woman should call Rabie Ridge Police Station on 011 310 0414.
He urged other complainants to come forward and lay charges against the suspect.
“The police will only investigate a case that has been registered at the station,” he said.
