MZANSI is really worried about Mthande hitmaker Robbie Malinga.

Many have been calling for fans to pray for him.

A photo has been circulating on social media showing the popular producer seemingly looking very thin and ill. The photo was apparently taken at a Metro FM listening session at the SABC studios in Joburg two weeks ago. This comes after it was reported in May that Malinga had been admitted to a private hospital in Joburg.

His admission to hospital raised concerns among his followers until he was discharged, but the photo has not done anything to relieve them of their worries. But his manager, Sipho Dube, reassured fans that Malinga was doing fine

He added that the hitmaker was working on a new album due to be released later this month.

“I can confirm that Robbie is not sick but is working hard on an album. It will be called Koisan Maxy and will have 10 tracks. People can still expect a lot from him,” he said.

After the photo went viral, people from across the country took to Facebook to wish Malinga a speedy recovery.

  • Mbalikayise Alexis wrote: “We are not ready to lose him. Please let’s pray for him.”
  • Sibongile van der Merwe: “Mzansi, you can break a person when he or she needs you the most. Anaemia is not a good disease to suffer from. Any of your family members or friends can be diagnosed with it.
  • “I feel sad because my late friend was anaemic and passed on within a short space of time. Ubuntu, zithandwa and empathy.”

    • Rebs Mphaka: “I’m a big fan of Robbie. It hurts me to see him like this.”
  • Rakhadi Selemale-Ngwane: “He is not in a good state, shame. Maybe God is going to do a miracle.”
  • Nomusa Fatima: “Think that’s when you don’t have enough blood.”
  • Hlengie Vilakazi: “I noticed when he performed at the Metro FM awards that there was something wrong with him.”
