MZANSI’S latest singing sensation, DJ Wobbly, has taken the world of hip hop by storm.

In less than a week of release, his hot new single, Ubusha Bethu (Going Up), has got the streets talking and hip hop lovers are begging for more.

As new as the song is, the Vuzu channel has already announced it as a hot single for this year.

In the song, he features Mgarimbe, DreamTeam and Nasty C, and talks about young people and their choices and interests.

In an exclusive interview with Sunday Sun, the Durban-based artist said he wants to develop hip hop music in the province.

“Many people in Durban still believe in kwaito and house music, as that’s the only good music they know. I want to change that.

“I want KZN people to know that our province is capable of producing other kinds of music too,” said DJ Wobbly.

He said people should expect his first album in July.

“I’m busy with an album at the moment. I’m cooking up a storm. I promise hip hop lovers that it will receive the same response that Ubusha Bethu got,” he said.

He said his music is going to be about the things that are happening in the lives of today’s youth, and with that, he’s hoping to pass on the message.

“Young people listen to a lot of music, so musicians can always use that platform to educate, while entertaining at the same time,” he added.
