RAP STAR Ntokozo Zakwe has allegedly joined a new stable in Durban!

It’s been said “Zakwe”, as he’s affectionately known, left Native Rhythms and didn’t waste time in securing himself a new home in the music industry.

The Bathi Ngiyachoma hitmaker started talking to the Durban-based powerhouse record label, Afrotainment.

Insiders in the stable claimed Zakwe’s been craving to work with DJ Tira, real name Mthokozi Khathi, for years. And now it seems his dream might just come true.

A source told Sunday Sun: “Zakwe is in talks with DJ Tira and has been seen coming in and out of Afrotainment in Morningside, in Durban.

“He told his friends things look promising as DJ Tira is keen on signing him so he can beef up his stable with household names.”

Another source close to Zakwe claimed it’s been DJ Tira’s dream to sign Zakwe as one of the label’s artists.

“DJ Tira could have signed Zakwe long ago, but he hates having enemies in the industry.

“He respects Native Rhythms boss, ubaba uSipho Sithole, so he didn’t want to cause problems with him.

“Now that Zakwe has left the Jozi-based record label, Tira sees an opportunity to get him,” the source said.

Recently, Sunday Sun reported Afro-soul singer Naima Kay was seen hanging with Afrotainment artists and could soon join the crew.

When Sunday Sun contacted DJ Tira for comment, he replied via SMS, saying Afrotainment is always there to help.

“At the moment Zakwe has asked us to do his management. He’s still under Native Rhythms.

“We work peacefully together. Future plans will be discussed when the time is right,” said DJ Tira.

Zakwe’s phone rang unanswered this week.

He didn’t return our SMSes or messages.
