THE DStv iRock Rustenburg Music Festival is back!

Presented by Daily Sun, Sunday Sun, Bacardi, Royal Marang and the Rustenburg local municipality, the music extravaganza will take place at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg on 10 December.

The event offers new artists an opportunity to make themselves known.

“This year, we’ve added a mentorship element.

“DStv, together with Donald and Mobi Dixon, will hold live auditions for entrants at mall activations in Rustenburg,” said MultiChoice general marketing manager, Nomsa Chabeli-Mazibuko.

Speaking to Sunday Sun, DJ Mobi Dixon said: “I’m excited to be discovering fresh talent. Judging by the current submissions, it’ll be a tough choice,” he said.

The prize for the ultimate talent is mentorship by Mobi Dixon and Afro soul singer, Donald.

In addition, will be a cool R10 000 cash prize, access to the DStv iRock VIP area where star treatment will be provided, and an opportunity to be featured on
V-Entertainment on Vuzu (DStv channel 116), as well as a feature in Daily Sun.

Entrants can upload their auditions to their Facebook page and tag @DStv and use #DStviRock.

WhatsApp clips can also be sent to 072 359 6488, using the keyword DStviRock, or send an SMS to 44899.

  • The competition is open until 3 December and winners will be announced on the DStv website, the Facebook page and in Daily Sun. The DStv iRock Rustenburg Music Festival kicks off at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium from 4pm on 10 December. Tickets are available at Computicket.
