AWARD-WINNING DJ Cndo is lucky to be alive after her car was involved in a seven- vehicle pile-up yesterday morning.

The DJ, whose real name is Sindisiwe Zungu, told Daily Sun she was on her way to King Shaka Airport when the accident happened on the N2 freeway close to eThekwini Hospital in Durban.

She was supposed to fly to Cape Town for the Afrotainment Summer Picnic at Kenilworth Racecourse yesterday.

“I was supposed to perform in Cape Town. As I was driving a Kia Rio to the airport, a car bumped into me from behind and because of the impact I hit the car in front of me. I am very happy to be alive and I thank God and the ancestors for saving me,” she said.

The Yamnandi Into hit maker said she was slightly hurt in the accident.

“I knocked my head on the windscreen and have minor bruises under my eyes,” she said.

She said she was not happy to have missed the big gig.

ER24 spokeswoman Chitra Bodasing confirmed the accident.

“We did not treat or transport anyone at the scene. Other services were there before us,” she said.

Bodasing said another 40 people were injured in Newcastle over the weekend.
