DINEO Moeketsi may be at home on Mzansi’s small screen, but she will soon make her debut on the big one as well.
She has landed her first lead role in the locally produced romantic comedy Mrs Right Guy.
SunBuzz asked Dineo how she juggles between being a presenter and acting.
She said: “Acting comes naturally to me. I even studied drama at high school. It’s presenting that happened by
accident.”
Dineo plays the part of Gugu, a tough cookie who has no time for boys or love. But despite herself, she ends up falling for
both Dumile played by Thapelo Mokoena and Joe played by Lehasa Moloi. This is totally understandable, since both actors
are so hot! So much for Gugu being a tough cookie, huh?
Said Dineo: “I don’t necessarily relate to Gugu. She’s rigid and has experienced more heartbreak than I have.
“Yes, most women of a certain age have experienced heartbreak, myself included, but I’m not anti-love like my character.”
Dineo is sure the movie will resonate with South African women who have been scorned by their lovers or anyone
interested in a movie about matters of the heart.
The producers of the movie describe the film as being about modern-day women in a love story with a twist.
Producer Cati Weinek said they didn’t want to make just another local film about gritty realities. “We wanted to make
more happy stories,” she said.
What could be happier than a locally produced movie, a love story, a hint of comedy and a stella cast? It’s a definite must
see.
Mrs Right Guy which has taken two years to shoot, will open in cinemas on 29 April.
