TALENTED SA DJ and producer, Da Capo, is allegedly gatvol with DJ Black Coffee.
Sources said the DJ from Limpopo wants out of DJ Black Coffee’s record label, Soulistic Music.
The source claimed “Da Capo”, real name Nicodimas Sekheta Mogashoa, has had many issues which have been building up since early last year.
Said the source: “He was signed by Black Coffee last year, but since he joined the stable, his relevance in the industry has been questionable.”
The source at Soulistic Music told Sunday Sun the only reason “Black Coffee”, real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo, signed Da Capo was because he saw him as his biggest threat in the music industry.
“I’m sure you’re aware now that Black Coffee wants Soulistic Music to be a one-man show.
“Da Capo was doing well for himself after he left Soul Candi.
“He was forever abroad, getting gigs all over the world, but now Da Capo has no album and people no longer recognise him,” claimed a source.
A house music legend told the People’s Paper: “That’s the treatment guys like Thiwe, Maleh and Culoe De Song got from him and that drove them away because he only focuses on himself.
“No one has succeeded at Soulistic Music except himself, which is unfair to other artists. He’s exploiting Da Capo’s talent.”
Da Capo refused to comment and said: “It’s too personal.”
Black Coffee couldn’t be reach for comment as he is in Barcelona, Spain.
His manager, Amaru da Costa’s phone was also off.
