IT’S been four days since the IBV International Children’s Day event took place.

But the kids are still excited and can’t believe that they rubbed shoulders with some of their favourite celebrities.

The event was held at the Durban Exhibition Centre on Saturday where celebs took selfies and entertained about 3 000 kids on their special day.

Riky Rick, Nasty C, Gemini Major, Dream Team, DBN NYTS, Maps Maponyane, Aewon Wolf, Carly O and Sketchy Bongo were some of the stars that got the kids jumping in their seats.

This was the seventh year that orphaned, vulnerable and abandoned kids were treated to a day of interactive fun, treats, games and pampering in the company of stars.

The company’s CEO Ashok Sewnarian said the purpose of the event was to make underprivileged kids feel like VIPs for the day.

Project assistant at the Pietermaritzburg SOS Children’s Home, Jabu Mbokazi, said: “Every year there’s something new and exciting for them. They get excited around this time knowing they are going

to spend the day with their idols.”
