LEGENDARY musician Hugh Masekela is back home and recovering.

This is after he fell and hurt his right shoulder.

It happened while Hugh was attending the Mo Ibrahim Awards in Marrakech, Morocco, at the weekend.

According to Caroline Hillary of Bassline Live PR, Hugh’s upcoming show at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City this Friday has been postponed.

Speaking to Daily Sun on behalf of Hugh, Caroline said: “Bra Hugh was injured when he tripped and fell while walking.

“The fall resulted in him needing urgent medical attention and subsequent immobilisation of the injury. Luckily, he wasn’t performing when it happened.

“He is 78 years old and a fall at his age could be very bad.

“Luckily, he only dislocated his shoulder. He is booked off for six weeks and will have to do some physio.”

She said people who have already bought tickets for the show have a choice of a refund via Computicket box office, or to hold on to them for the rescheduled date.

“We are hoping to get a new date as soon as possible.

“But it will possibly be towards the end of June, depending on the venue’s availability and how soon Bra Hugh will heal,” said Caroline.

Bassline Live and Kaya FM wished Hugh a speedy recovery.
