WHEN Bheki Gwala was treated badly by some popular artists, he didn’t give up but used the experience to get stronger.

Now the gospel singer is a successful businessman who has two recording companies.

Bheki, the brother of radio personality Xolani Gwala, told SunBuzz he has been cheated several times.

But he refused to reveal the names of the artists involved.

“I did work for some popular producers and artists, who never paid me,” said Bheki.

“I learnt to be strong because there are people like them out there. I humbled myself before them because I sing gospel, which preaches peace.”

He has released four albums and signed several artists under his companies, Bhekito Music and Premiertainment.

Noluvo “Patricia” Ntapu from Generations: The Legacy is one of the artists who are signed to Premiertainment.

Bheki has also worked with Sipho Mbhele, Tshepo Nzimande, Deborah Fraser, Sizwe Zako, Lundi and other popular artists.

He recently won an Ingoma award for best male artist.
