Bongekile ‘Babes Wodumo’ Simelane’s visa drama seems to be getting worse by the hour.
Viacom International Media Networks Africa representatives have now released a statement confirming that Babes has thus far been unsuccessful in her visa application.
“We have assisted the 2017 BET Awards nominees in securing their travel requirements in a speedy manner. However it has been brought to our attention by the management of the nominee in question that she has not secured a visa. We are in contact with the nominee’s management and are working together to find a solution,” the media company said.
Viacom International Media Networks is a media conglomerate with interests primarily in cinema and cable television, one of which is the BET Network.
Meanwhile, Melody Mhlongo of West Ink Records has spoken to the Sunday Tribune and refuted the rumours that Babes is definitely not going to the awards.
“Those allegations are not true, we are currently busy with the preparations,” she told the publication.
The Daily Sun has been in touch with West Ink Records, who have refused to comment.
