ALL roads lead to Limpopo this weekend.
A number of Mzansi’s top artists will perform at various venues as part of the DStv iRock Festival in Polokwane.
The festival kicked off last night with a comedy show at Meropa Conference Centre
A pre-party, headlined by Babes Wodumo, will take place tonight at Jembe Tavern in Meropa Casino. The festival will end with a massive concert at the Polokwane Rugby Fields tomorrow.
Festival organiser Rito Hlungwani said music lovers should expect the show to be on another level this year.
“It will be better than anything we have organised in the past.
“Every genre of music will be represented, and we have a wide variety of top musicians to keep fans dancing,” he said.
Nomsa Chabeli-Mazibuko, general manager of marketing at MultiChoice, said the festival has grown since it was launched in 2013.
“South Africans love music and live performances. That’s why the festival has become a regular feature on their entertainment calenders,” she said.
The main event on Saturday will include performances by the likes of Black Coffee, Mafikizolo, AKA, Riky Rick, Kwesta, Nathi, Shekinah and Mobi Dixon.
The festival is organised by Nedbank, Daily Sun, Bacardi, Red Bull, the provincial government of Limpopo, Polokwane Municipality and Mall of the North.
