ALEX Rockstars are still Stumbo Stomp’s bhoza ya mabhoza.
The crew which has won twice were up against Overcome Pantsula and Rocka Fella Pantsula and managed to last all three rounds.
The group from Alex has scored another R20 000 from the competition and is over the moon. The Rockstars’ performance with chairs last night proved they challenge themselves every week.
The dance crew made up of Sipho Zulu, Katlego Malapa and Lerato Tshabalala said their plan is to put their kasi on the map. And winning again meant they were achieving their goals.
Sipho told SunBuzz that the money they won will help at home.
“We’ve put a lot of work in our routines to impress the judges. We know what the judges want and we try to deliver every week.”
He said he came up with the idea of including chairs in their performance.
“Most people who perform using chairs only sit on them and don’t dance with them.
“The guys liked the idea and we started coming up with exciting dance moves,” he said.
“People don’t take dancers seriously but we are trying to make a statement. We want to motivate young kids to nurture their talent and take it seriously.”
