If there’s one celeb who knows how to get social media fired up, it is definitely AKA.

AKA, real name, Kiernan Forbes, is once again in the firing line on social media.

This time, for comparing South African struggle icon, Nelson Mandela, to Jesus.

AKA recently showed off his new set of gold and diamond encrusted gold chains with an image of Madiba on them.

“I asked Stino the Jeweler for a Jesus piece, because I wanted to keep it classic. Then I thought hey, Mandela is almost like Jesus to us in this part of the world. So why not make a "Madiba's Piece,” he said.

This left many people upset and feeling disrespected because of AKA’s comparison.

But speaking to TshisaLive, AKA basically said he doesn’t care.

"Mandela is an icon and I wanted to show that. Instead of getting the Jesus piece, which is a timeless classic in hip-hop, I thought: 'let me challenge the designers and make something unique but with a similar message," he told the publication.
