I RECENTLY watched a video of Ruha Benjamin, a sociologist and professor at Princeton University.

In a quotable video posted by Al Jazeera, she said: “Black faces in high places are not going to save us.”

Her words struck a chord and I immediately thought of US Deputy President Kamala Harris, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and closer to home – the South African government.
