A PASTOR of a well-known church will appear in the Benoni Magistrates Court on Friday, April 19.
A case was opened against the leader of a church in Daveyton, in Ekurhuleni, by three female congregants in February 2024, alleging they were sexually assaulted by the pastor.
Gauteng Police spokeswoman Colonel Noxolo Khweza confirmed that a sexual assault case was opened and is under investigation.
Three women, who claimed to have been sexually abused, spoke to Daily Sun. One of the victims said this happened after she gave birth in 2003.
The woman, who did not want to discuss the case for fear of jeopardising it, said she felt violated, has since left the church and vented her anger on social media.
"After that, I was summoned to the Joburg High Court where a news gag order was imposed on me, requiring me not to speak about him [the pastor] on social media," she claimed.
She showed the SunTeam some of the contents of the gag order she received in 2018.
The other victim claimed the pastor allegedly tried to rape her inside the church's offices in 2023.
The third sexual assault allegedly happened in 2017.

Angry residents said they would support the trio in court.
"We've had enough of wolves hiding behind God's name. It's disturbing to keep reading about sexual offences committed by pastors who are supposed to protect women and children."
Daily Sun contacted the pastor, but his cellphone went straight to voicemail, and we sent him a WhatsApp message, but he never got back to us.
